A disclosure - I am the editor for this book (as well as a former sea turtle biologist), but I am being 100% honest in saying this is a phenominal achievement. It has been lauded in USA Today and several other newspapers and will be reviewed in Science and Nature in early 2005. The low price was made possible because of a generous grant from John and Renee Grisham's Oakwood Arts foundation.
The book was prereviewed for accuracy by a who's who of sea turtle biologists and contains stunning photos. The author, James Spotila, will be signing copies at the Sea Turtle Symposium. This really is a must own for anyone interested in sea turtles! |

James Spotila's book is an excellent introduction to sea turtles. The information found in the text is detailed and fascinating without being dry or overly academic. I found the sections on conservation to be especially enlightening. Moreover, the grapics and photographs are outstanding. In short, I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about one of the most fascinating animals on the planet. |
