Description:

The Great Marine Project is a non-governmental turtle conservation project based on the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia.

Our goal is to increase the Green turtle populations on the Perhentian Islands

Phase 1:- Incubate 100% of eggs laid on our beach
- link with local governmental and research orgs
- start our after-school marine club in the primary school on Perhentian
- Educate all tourists coming to our resort

Phase 2:- Protect a second beach
- obtain license for turtle hatchery on another beach on Perhentian
- Protect eggs using in-situ hatchery
- Educate all tourists visiting Perhentian Island

Phase 3: - looking outside the island
- spread after-school marine club to schools on mainland
- establish migration routes of the turtles.


The Great Marine Project is a conservation company that uses volunteers to ensure protection of the Green Turtles of the Perhentian islands.
