Neotropico Foundation is a Non for Profit organization, declared of public interest by Spanish government.

Working in coordination with Regional Authorities we achieve Rescue and Rehabilitation of marine turtles. Other aims are Research, Conservation and Environmental Education on marine and terrestrial wildlife.

Our facilities are also a Sanctuary for primates (and other species of fauna) confiscated by Spanish and European Authorities from illegal trade.

With the support of Agriculture,Food and Environment Ministry of the Spanish government through Biodiversity Foundation, we have developed a software tool for the photoidentification of marine turtles and a database of all registered individuals. This database is freely accessible for consultancy and upgraded regularly with pictures of turtles from all around the world sent by registered collaborators. We have called the project PITMAR (Programa de Identificacion de Tortugas Marinas / Marine Turtle Identification Program) and is accessible here:

Working with environmental education on sea turtles since 1991 in a previous local group called GIEB that became Neotropico Foundation in year 2000.
