Description:
Sea turtle biologists for NCWRC are responsible for monitoring and collecting data on both sea turtle nesting and stranding activity throughout the state. This requires the cooperation of numerous local volunteer groups, state and national parks, municipalities, universities, and numerous other state and federal agencies. Sea turtle biologists also collaborate on various research projects and provide expert advice for planning and regulating human activities that impact sea turtles like beach renourishment and fisheries operations.
