Description:
Part of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education is located in Corolla, on the northern end of the Outer Banks. Visitors to the Outer Banks Center will have opportunities to learn about the wildlife of North Carolina's northeastern coastal region. The Center works with WRC biologists and volunteers with the Network for Endangered Sea Turtles to help manage and protect nesting and stranded sea turtles along the coast. Through weekly programs, citizen-science projects, and internships the Center leads education opportunities promoting conservation and research efforts for these threatened and endangered species.
