V Meeting and IV Symposium of Research and Conservation of Sea Turtles in the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean - 2009 On 30 setember-3 October 2009, the V Meeting and IV Symposium of Research and Conservation of Sea Turtles in the South West Atlantic (ASO) took place in Mar del Plata, a sea side town in Argentina. Mar del Plata was chosen to be the event site, because of its important and active fishermen community. The main goals of the meeting were: to strengthen and consolidate the strategies of ASO Tortuga Network regarding the conservation of sea turtles regionally and internationally, and to continue with the exchange of scientific and educational results.
