A green turtle feeding on the invasive seagrass, Halophila stipulacea, in St. John, Virgin Islands
This photos shows a green sea turtle feeding on the invasive seagrass, Halophila stipulacea. More research is needed on how this rapidly spreading seagrass will change the ecology of marine ecosystems in the Caribbean. The turtle was also eating the native seagrasses Thalassia and Syringodium.
