Sport Fisheries Impact

A juvenile green turtle, found dead in Balconada Beach, La Paloma, Uruguay. It was found entangled in a piece of monofilament discarded by sport fishermen, who usually get their fishing lines entangled in the rocky bottom, and when this happens, they proceed to cut it and leave the piece in the water.
