Eligibility: Any non-U.S. citizen residing outside of the United States of America. Applicants should be actively involved in ongoing sea turtle research or conservation.
What to Submit: Each applicant must submit (i) a short paragraph stating whether the need is for assistance with the cost of air travel and/or housing, (ii) a preliminary abstract of the paper or poster to be presented, and (iii) a plan for soliciting matching funds (travel awards rarely cover the entire cost of travel). Please include your full name, position title, and address; a FAX or email number is mandatory. Applications should not exceed two pages.
Deadline: Applications must be received by the Committee (address below) by 1 October 1996. Applications received after the deadline has passed will be evaluated on a first-come-first-serve basis as funds allow. [N.B. 'Call for Papers' will be sent out in August.]
Selection Criteria: Priority will be given to persons making oral or poster presentations. Applicants will be selected based on the quality of their proposed presentation, as well as on need. Secondary priority will be given to persons seeking to attend the Symposium for the first time and persons representing countries which have not been represented in the past.
