An English version of the "Preliminary report on the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) in Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore", produced by the Japanese Tortoise Shell Association in August 1973, has now been prepared by George Balazs and Mae Nozoe. The report contains information about the sources of supply for hawksbill shell and also many facts about the Japanese Tortoise shell trade and the problems it faces in the future.
