The V regional marine turtle symposium of the Guianas (24-26/9/2001)

The V regional marine turtle symposium of the Guianas was held on the 24-26 September 2001 in Paramaribo, Suriname. Since 1997 this symposium serves an as annual forum to present recent data and discuss future plans within the Guianas. The symposium was organised by the Foundation for Nature Conservation in Suriname (Stinasu) and WWF-Guianas.

Participants working in Suriname, French Guiana, Guyana, Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago, representing various stakeholders such as local communities, fishermen, fisheries departments, nature conservation devisions and conservationists presented and discussed the results of the past season and discussed a number of specific items in working groups.
