South Carolina DNR Sea Turtle Conservation Program

South Carolina United Turtle Enthusiasts (SCUTE) monitor approximately 78 km of beach in northern Georgetown and Horry Counties. This area includes the following separately patrolled areas.

Pawleys Island is comprised of single family homes and one condominium complex. The northern 2/3 of the beach has stable dunes and adequate setbacks. The southern 1/3 has houses on the active beach.
