Beach Description

Bulls Island is part of the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge and is approximately 11.2 km long. The island has extensive erosional areas including boneyards and washovers. There is a lot of natural debris on the beach, which makes some of the suitable nesting habitat difficult for the nesting females to access. Coyotes are the primary sea turtle nest predators on the island and nests are screened and staked to keep them out of nests.
