Satellite TrackingLisandro - Gabon 2010-11: Corisco Bay, Green Turtles A project of Marine Turtle Research Group. Static Map | Lisandro was released at its capture site in Coriso Bay, Gabon on March 16th, 2010.
Background Lisandro was the second green turtle to carry a satellite transmitter in Gabon. This turtle has the honor of being named after the son of one of our local research teamâs members (Chacho). Lisandro was caught by hand (as a diver jumps from a boat when turtle is sighted) in Corisco Bay near the uninhabited island of Cocotier. Based on its size (39.5 cm curved carapace length, weighing 7.5 kg), this turtle is a juvenile.
