TTX914 is a subadult green sea turtle that was outfitted and released near Port Aransas, Texas with a Sirtrack KiwiSat 202 transmitter on 20 May 2007. Please note that there is a degree of error in satellite tracking and that points appearing on land are probably inaccurate.

Background

TTX914 ("Stretch") is a juvenile green sea turtle that was outfitted with a Sirtrack KiwiSat 202 satellite transmitter and released on 20 May 2007. "Stretch" was captured during STFERL entanglement netting operations near Port Aransas, Texas, as part of a 2-year study funded by the Texas Sea Grant Program to examine occurrence and distribution of sea turtles in Texas bays. This turtle has been nicknamed "Stretch" in reference to its narrow, elongated carapace.

Sea surface temperature and chlorophyll are derived from NASA's Ocean Color data.
Ocean currents and sea surface heights are derived from AVISO's Ssalto/Duacs Gridded Absolute Dynamic Topography & absolute geostrophic velocities data.
