Why did animal X stop transmitting?

Background

"Andy T" (YYS894) is a juvenile/subadult green sea turtle captured 13 August 2009 during STFERL entanglement netting operations in the Lower Laguna Madre near Port Mansfield, Texas. This turtle was outfitted and released with a Sirtrack KiwiSat 202 satellite transmitter on 13 August 2009 and released near it's capture location. Satellite tracking of this animal and other green turtles is part of a study examining green turtle assemblages in the lower Laguna Madre funded via a grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department KAST Restitution Funds.
YYS894 has been nicknamed "Andy T" in reference to Andy Tirpak, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department liason for this project. Special thanks go to Mary Ann and J.D. Whitley of Port Mansfield, Texas for providing work space to process this turtle and attach the satellite transmitter as well as lodging STFERL personnel. This is the first green turtle to be satellite tracked by the STFERL in the Port Mansfield area.
