Background
Gemelogg is a sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle who stranded on Little Talbot Island, Florida on February 27, 2012. Gemelogg was lethargic, emaciated and covered with epibiota consistent with what we refer to as debilitated turtle syndrome. Initial blood work revealed a severe anemia and low blood protein. Gemelogg was initially treated with antibiotics, iron, and fluids.
