Background
Arthur is a very young green turtle who was found entangled in ghostnet on the coast of the Dhimurru Indigenous Protected Area in Northeast Arnhem Land, Australia. Rangers discovered Arthur during a routine helicopter survey and he enjoyed a short hop in the chopper back to the Dhimurru base. He spent a couple of days resting and rehydrating before receiving his fitting of a very small satellite tracker and released back into the wild. Arthur will provide Dhimurru land and sea managerâs vital information on the survival rates of turtles once released from net and potentially where they are becoming entangled. Good luck Arthur our small friend, swim well.
