"Maju" is a special turtle. She has captivated the interest of many people in Dubai and is set to teach scientists and conservationists more about survival in the wild following rehabilitation. Leaving Dubai, she tracked over to the coast of iran, and now is headed out of the Gulf and into the Arabian Sea. From the UAE to Iran, past Musandam in Oman and now across to Pakistan.... where will she end up?

Background

Maju is a small green turtle which was rescued from a beach in Dubai, Uniited Arab Emirates, in 2002. Following rehabilitation and care in a special enclosure, she has now been released and tracked with a transmitter to determine her dispersal and behaviour following the rehabilitation process.


SEATURTLE.ORG collaborates with Argos to help scientists and conservationists manage and analyse their valuable animal tracking data.
