Pauline was named by Viani Ngema, a school child from Malembe village near Mayumba. Pauline was fitted with a Sirtrack transmitter during Febraury 2006. She moved the furthest north of the leatherback turtles tracked in this project. The transmitter recorded 1 nesting event after attachment. This nesting was witnessed by an ecoguard patrolling a section of Mayumba National Park north of Bame. Unfortunately, the transmitter failed the following day, however, the data collected has greatly added to our understanding of the internesting movements made by leatherback turtles nesting at Mayumba National Park.
