Introduction
Sirtrack transmitters were attached to three nesting female green turtles at Ma'Daerah beach in Terengganu, Malaysia in August, 2005. An additional transmitter was attached to an adult male green turtle found trapped in the water intake of a nearby power station.
Project Partners
This project was done in conjunction with the Department of Fisheries Malaysia, the University of Queensland and Griffith University as part of the "Earthwatch Green Turtles of Malaysia" project.
Project Sponsors
Additional funding for the transmitters and satellite downloads was provided by a grant set up by the Vodafone Foundation through the Earthwatch Institute.
Transmitters were purchased from Sirtrack and satellite downloads were obtained from ARGOS.
