Introduction
This Environment Canada supported work is part of a larger research program based at Memorial University of Newfoundland using GLS and PTTs to track the migration of Northern Gannets from 4 of their 6 North American colonies. They are investigating how they use ocean habitat, which marine areas are most important for them and how they are affected by climatic and anthropogenic influences. This particular deployment of 13 tags was a direct response to monitoring the use of the Gulf of Mexico given the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
