Introduction
The Center of Studies and Cares for Sea Turtles of Aquarium La Rochelle has got 3 missions : the rescue, the rehabilitation and the release of injured and beached sea turtles along the Atlantic coasts.
Since 1990, nearly 160 sea turtles beached have been tagged with flipper tags and has been released from La Rochelle.
Since 2008, Aquarium La Rochelle tagged with satellite tags and released 10 juvenile loggerheads from the french atlantic coast. This year, a new juvenile loggerhead called "ECUME" will be released with a PTT for better understanding its behavior and comparate them with the other tracks.
Project Partners
This year, the french governement space agency (Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales) join the Aquarium La Rochelle to make this fourth satellite tracking on 1 juvenile sea turtle possible.
