Marine Turtle Research Group BSc (Glasgow, 1991) Brendan co-ordinates the activities of the MTRG with Annette Broderick. He is currently a NERC Research Fellow carrying out a study of the "Determinants of Migration Strategies in Marine Turtles." Marine turtle studies to date have been diverse and have involved work in the Mediterranean (Northern Cyprus and Turkey), the Caribbean (Trinidad & Tobago and the UK Overseas Territories), west Africa (Guinea Bissau) and the south Atlantic (Ascension Island) as well as studies of marine turtles in British waters. External responsibilities include acting as Co-editor of the Marine Turtle Newsletter , member of the board of directors for SEATURTLE.ORG and the International Sea Turtle Symposium. Brendan also serves on the IUCN Marine Turtle Specialist Group, IUCN Veterinary Specialist Group, and the Turtle Implementation Group for the UK Biodiversity Action Plan for Marine Turtles.
