Sue graduated from the University of the Free State, Republic of South Africa with a BA in Philosophy and Languages in 1991. Since graduating she has gained considerable field experience in marine turtle conservation, community development and education in Greece, Sri Lanka, the UK and the UK Overseas Territories in the Caribbean. She is currently working as Wildlife Projects Officer for the Marine Conservation Society, the joint lead partner in the UK Grouped Marine Turtle Species Action Plan. She is also working with the MTRG on the DEFRA funded Turtles in the Caribbean Overseas Territories (TCOT) project. She began research towards a MPhil within the MTRG in March 2003. Her dissertation will focus on an assessment of the unique approach to marine turtle conservation taken on the island of Anguilla in the Eastern Caribbean and is conducted in collaboration with the Anguillian Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources.
